Lemon Syrup Cake
- 150 Gram butter
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla essence
- 3/4 Cup sugar
- 2 egg
- 3 Teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 Cup plain flour
- 3/4 Cup milk
- 3 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 Cup sugar
- Cream butter, vanilla, sugar together
- add eggs one at a time, beating well
- sift baking powder and plain flour onto mixture and fold in
- add enough milk to give a "soft dropping" consistency.
- Spoon into tin and cook 35-40mins @ 180°C
- Heat sugar and lemon juice in pan until sugar dissolves
- Pour over cake, and let cool before removing from tin
