Turkish Delights
- 2 Tablespoon gelatin
- 3/4 Cup water
- 2 Cup sugar
- 1 Cup boiling water
- 2 Drop flavouring
- 2 Drop food colouring
- 1/2 Cup cornflour
- 1/2 Cup icing sugar
- Combine gelatin and water in a saucepan and let sit for 10 minutes
- Add sugar and boiling water and stir until sugar has dissolved
- Bring to boil, stirring, and boil for 15 mins stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and add essence and food colouring.
- Tip into slightly wet baking paper and leave to set for 24 hours
- Remove, cut, roll in Corn flour & Icing sugar.
As they dry out they get a bit harder on the outside. They are nicer after a couple of days.
Use a really big pan as it rises heaps while boiling. Also, I use silicon bakeware and can usually pry them off in one piece with a bit of work
